Ruth resides in Alamo, California. She uses her skills both as a professional artist and as a teacher in the San Ramon Valley.

She has studied with many prominent artists. She exhibits her work through the California Watercolor Association and the Valley Art Gallery. She has earned many honors and awards both locally and nationally. Ruth has earned her Signature Membership in CWA and SDWS. This accomplishment requires acceptance into three of their national juried shows. She paints cityscapes, landscapes and florals from photos she has taken while traveling.

Ruth is the National Director for California Watercolor Association. This position entails hosting a yearly art exhibition showcasing work from many of the most renowned watercolorists in the country. It is a juried show with over 700 entries for 75 coveted spots. CWA gives over $14,000 in prizes. 2020 will be the 50th Anniversary of CWA’s National Exhibition. 

Ruth is a retired kindergarten teacher but continues to teach art to the children in her local school district. She has developed her own art history program for 5 - 10 year olds . The children love to paint just like Monet, Picasso, O’Keeffe and Haring. She has been instrumental in raising funds for art programs and materials in her school district.
